Why did we make it?
Let’s face it, bicycle rim tape has been terrible for years! After several months of selling sealant, we found 90% of customer service inquiries ended up being an issue with the valves or tape. We knew we had to make something better so people would have fewer issues and an overall better experience with our sealant.

Every aspect of this tape is designed with purpose. From the bespoke smoked adhesive, to the wide gauge core for ease of application. This is the bees knees! We thought it would be easy... We wanted a super strong adhesive, the ability to print onto the tape and have a good stretch (enabling it to stretch easily into the rim bed).

We found a very strong adhesive but this was so strong that it was pulling off the print from the top side of the tape! Reducing the strength of the adhesive reduced the performance of the tape. Removing the print looked dull. We were stuck!

We finally had a eureka moment when we applied print to the under-side of a clear tape, then a dyed adhesive over the top of that. This meant that we could use any adhesive we liked, dye it any color we liked and the printed logos would not be scratched off from the top. This tape looks as good the day you come to take it off, as the day you put it on.
